A studio newborn session is always special, but this one felt extra sweet from the moment this sweet family arrived. There is something so incredible about photographing a brand-new baby, it never gets old. Everything slows down, and the focus stays exactly where it should be: on baby!
As a fellow mom, these sessions mean so much to me. I know SO well the blur that occurs those first several weeks. The tiny details you want to grasp forever, contrasted by the intensity of sleep deprivation. It feels like water slipping through your fingers.
This little one was fresh and sleepy, which made it the perfect window for newborn portraits. We used a simple white wrap for baby, and she wore a little matching bow as well. We leaned into a white and neutral color palette for all three of them, which kept everything timeless. Leaning into cream knits, gray sweaters, soft textures, and simple layers to create a cohesive look. I am always thinking about how these images will look framed on your living room wall. Or designed in a coffee table book together.
This new mama looked incredible in a flowing white dress, which photographed beautifully. But most importantly, helped her feel comfortable postpartum. The overall look felt effortless and elevated without being fussy or overdone.
Big sister joined us for a few “mommy and me” moments, and those images were pure magic. Including siblings is such a meaningful part of newborn photo shoots in my opinion. As a mom of multiples, I know how it makes your heart want to burst seeing them interact.
Wrapped poses and detail shots rounded out the gallery for this studio newborn session. Tiny fingers, curled toes, and those soft newww baby features are my favorites. These moments pass so. so. quickly, and having them documented in a clean, classic way is something you’ll cherish always.
If you’re expecting and wondering how to make this type of session a reality for you, here’s my advice. Try to book your newborn session during the second trimester. This allows us to photograph your baby within the first two to four weeks postpartum, when they are sleepiest and most comfortable being gently posed. But if you’re past that mark, don’t hesitate to reach out. These are photos you’ll never regret having.
Calm and connected moments. My goal as a photographer is to make the session a core memory for you & your family. Manifesting many more newborns in the studio in 2026, because this is the kind of work that never gets old.
