When it comes to Waterfront proposal moments…it doesn’t get much better than this.

Connor planned the sweetest surprise for Josie, choosing a spot along the water. The afternoon light reflected off the river, the breeze was soft, and everything felt calm in that way where you know something special is about to happen. It was so fun to document these moments! Josie had no idea what was coming, which made her reaction even more emotional when Connor dropped to one knee.

As a Wisconsin wedding photographer, these special moments never get old! 

The whole setting was relaxed and personal. Connor knew Josie would something that felt natural and authentic to them. He picked a spot near the river that he knew she would love. And he made sure it was built into their normal weekend routines, so she didn’t suspect anything. 

A waterfront proposal was exactly perfect for these two.

Once Josie said yes, the celebration unfolded in the best possible way. And we love a groom that plans ahead! He knew Josie would want their moms to be included. So he arranged for them to be waiting nearby! They immediately ran over to hug them, turning the moment into a shared family memory. Their pup joined in too, making it feel even more personal and full of joy.

Then, as if the timing couldn’t have been better, hot air balloons floated up behind them in the distance.

We couldn’t believe it. It felt like the universe was celebrating right along with them.

Connor popped champagne, and the two of them toasted to their future together as the sun dipped lower in the sky. Laughter, happy tears, and lots of hand squeezing followed. Those in-between moments, the ones filled with disbelief and excitement, are what made this session so special to photograph.

Ending the evening with champagne, family, and balloons in the background made this waterfront proposal one they will never forget.
